Mother of El Dorado Hills homicide victim speaks

The mother of the woman murdered in El Dorado Hills early Wednesday morning is speaking out. Khrista Ibarolle was just 31 when she was gunned down in the 36 Handles parking lot.

Khrista's family said she was inspired by nature. They called her a caring and compassionate woman.

Her mother, Lori Ibarolle, said on the phone from South Dakota that her daughter always lightened the mood with her vibrant smile.

"Khrista is going to be missed," Ibarolle said. "She had a big smile. She had a hug for everybody."

Ibarolle said if Khrista would have been allowed to live, she would have continued to work every day to make this world a better place.

"There was no stranger (for Khrista)," she said. "She had no prejudices as far as people. Everybody was part of her circle of love."

Detectives believe Khrista was murdered by 41-year-old Anderson Swift of Oakland. They said Swift approached Khrista and her friend in the parking lot, demanding cash and keys. Officials said he shot at the women as they tried to run away, and Khrista was killed instantly. Deputies said Swift still made off with her car, but he crashed it about five miles away. Swift was in custody about an hour after the murder, and a gun was recovered inside that crashed car.

"For her to be met with such a violent death, it's just so opposite of what she believed in," her mother said.
