Dealing with hot weather

Dealing with hot weather

As Deputy Director of the El Dorado County Office of Emergency Services (OES), Sheriff John D’Agostini is working with El Dorado County Public Health officials to provide relief from the hot weather we are experiencing. Yesterday the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency in conjunction with the County Office of Emergency Services developed a plan to inform county residents of the dangers that accompany the hot weather, and ways to combat the effect of the heat. New Favorite Exercise App!

I sincerely apologize for being so distant with this blog!! I really love to share all the exciting things I discover, but I will be the first to admit, I'm still adjusting to the move we made last year.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love everything about where we are living, and the school my kids are attending, but the adjustment has been huge as we have changed everything about our lives.

From country living to city, from being 15-20 minutes away from the nearest stores/friends/civilization to being 5 minutes from everything and seconds away from friends. (There are 6 families in our court that we go to church with each week and have kids the same age) I've also started to work a few hours a day, first time since 1998 when we moved back home and decided to start a family.  I could go on and on, but who wants to hear the details?  We moved. I am still adjusting. Period.

2013 Weekly Challenge #22: Build a New Healthy Habit

Your challenge this week is to create a new healthy habit (or break an old unhealthy one). Here's a great article on the topic:

"Research has proven that it takes 21 days to form a habit. Habits are an essential part of our life, without them we would fail in most things we try to accomplish. They help us to reach specific goals, stay focused along the way and keep on pushing when the going gets touch. At the same time, non-supportive habits can keep us from moving forward or even hurt our well-being. As Dr. Andrew Weil says, anything you do with repetition and emotion will become your reality. If you’re not satisfied with your current experience, examine your habits.
