Kids organize Soldier Care Package drive

To celebrate Independence Day and the men and women fighting for our freedom, the hard-working youth volunteers in Hands4Hope-Youth Making A Difference are gearing up for a Soldier Care Package Drive.  The event begins June 13th and runs through July 4.

Jennifer Bassett, founder of the non-profit Hands4Hope, says this is the second year the youth decided to do the drive and they are anxious to start collecting.  Last year the kids packaged more than 3,000 items and over 150 letters and cards.  They worked with the Honor Our Troops Foundation and helped host a pancake breakfast to raise money to ship the packages.

Hands4Hope is an El Dorado Hills based youth organization with a mission of developing the next generation of socially responsible citizens by engaging youth in community outreach.

The Soldier Care Package Drive is a favorite among events the youth in Hands4Hope are involved with.
