PLACERVILLE, CA - A month after a cat was found with an arrow in its head, investigators continue to search for suspects.

A 4-year-old boy Tabby cat was found on the 500 block of Sunlight Drive around 11:40 p.m. on Dec. 20 with a crossbow arrow in its head, El Dorado County Sheriff's Lt. Bryan Golmitz said.

As animal control tried to capture the cat, the bolt fell out. Golmitz said the bolt did not penetrate the cat's head. The cat was eventually captured and taken in for treatment.

The cat, named Taz, appears to be doing well, Chief of El Dorado County Animal Services Henry Brzezinski said.

The Humane Society of the United States offered a $2,500 reward on top of the $3,000 reward from the Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills.
